Knole

I visited this place  inspired by friend from Flickr. Paul shared so nice photos of this place and not only from this one. All his photos can be inspired my next short trips. Like you can see the weather wasn't so nice, windy, cold but not raining. I went there in my day off with plan to see two interesting place near each other. My plan was done and can be happy. However the house was part close I enjoyed to discover the Gatehouse Tower at Knole.
Passing through the huge wooden doors with the tower arching into the sky above, many have gazed in awe at the impressive entrance to this historic house. The commanding tower dominates Knole’s west front and was built for Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury, between 1472 and 1474.
Knole is one of England’s most important, complete, yet fragile historic houses, set at the heart of Kent’s last remaining medieval deer park. One-time palace to archbishops and former royal property of the Tudor dynasty, Knole, in Sevenoaks, was a place of extraordinary wealth and grandeur.
