The pond is a remnant of a lake that was the coastal lakes between Ustka and Jarosławiec. Numerous legends about ghouls living in dark brown waters are connected with a small lake in the middle of the forest. The ghosts incorrectly showed the way for travelers who died in the depths of the pond. In 1930, the journal Ostpomersche Heimat published a record of the legend of the wisps and ghosts that led the coachman driving the carriage into the depths of Seekenmoor.
