Red Sea Coral Reef

The Red Sea is a rich and diverse ecosystem. Over 1,200 species of fish have been registered in the Red Sea, and around 10% of them occur nowhere else. There are also over 1,000 species of invertebrate and 200 soft and hard corals.

The Red Sea reef is mainly inhabited by Egypt. However, part of it extends to Saudi Arabia as well as to Israel. This reef is home to great biodiversity.
About 10% of the thousands of species living here are home only to this reef and have not been found anywhere else in the world.
This reef is between 5000 and 7000 years old

The Spanish dancer is a large dorid nudibranch that can grow up to a maximum length of 90 cm. However, the commonly observed size is 20-30 cm long. His body color is generally an orange-red spot with many small white dots, but it can also be uniformly bright red or yellow with red scattered spots. His body is soft and flattened, the front dorsal has a pair of retractable rhinos, and the back has six contraction gills placed independently in the body. If the animal is concerned, its edges develop and it can flow through contractions and wavy body to move away from the disturbing element. His colloquial name, Spanish dancer, comes from this particular defense.
