Lake Mamry
Glacial, moraine lake, also one of the largest lakes in Poland. The
bottom of the lake is hilly, covered mostly with stoneworts that create
underwater meadows. The deepest place can be found in the northern part
of the lake. The shores are mostly low but also waterlogged in large
part. The lake was created, according to the publications, from six
lakes: Dargin, Dobskie, Kirsajty, Kisajno, Mamry and Święcajty. On the
lake there are 33 islands with a total area of 213 ha. On the part of
the lake Mamry and Kisajno ornithological reserve was created. The
largest island on all Mazury (Upatły) is located on the lake Mamry.
A lake carries you into recesses of feeling otherwise impenetrable.
