The White Cliffs of Dover the most famous symbol of the Channel port in Kent.

The White Cliffs of Dover absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed this wonderful view. I was walking over the cliffs after visited the castle in Dover. The weather was better this afternoon then in the morning and it looked to have very nice walking. I met some people on my way there.  Young girl who was on the holiday and was happy to chat with me a little,  group from Germany asking me to take photo of them , people with dogs too. This cliffs weren't so busy like Seven Sister but you aren't alone there, Horses fitting on the cliffs stopped me for longer watching for this amazing view. And port; pretty busy sea full of ferries arriving to port in Dover. Absolutely amazing view. Not me only enjoyed this view. There I met young boy sitting on the cliff and looking away the sea. I stopped to chat with him a little. My way was from  Dover Castle to South Foreland Lighthouse and back. It is about 4 mil a hour and half walking over cliffs a symbol for Britons everywhere. The soft, white chalk is rare geologically; it is a very pure form of limestone. The White Cliffs of Dover are England’s most spectacular natural feature. The cliffs were featured in many songs and poems, most notably by Dame Vera Lynn in her wartime classic “(There’ll be bluebirds over) The White Cliffs of Dover.” It was also mentioned by William Shakespeare in King Lear.

the South Foreland Lighthouse is one of the few surviving Victorian lighthouses in England. South Foreland was the first lighthouse to use an electric light. It was also the first lighthouse to receive a ship to shore message.

The Dover Castle is one of England’s most visited castles and it had a major defense role in the country’s history.

The White Cliffs of Dover
Vera Lynn
there'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see
I'll never forget the people I met
Braving those angry skies
I remember well as the shadows fell
The light of hope in their eyes
And though I'm far away
I still can hear them say
Bombs up...
But when the dawn comes up
there'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see
there'll be love and laughter
And peace ever after
Tomorrow
When the world is free
The shepherd will tend his sheep
The valley will bloom again
And Jimmy will go to sleep
In his own little room again
there'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see

there'll be bluebirds over

The white cliffs of Dover
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see...
